Swine Nursery Manager - GPM Job at Great Plains Management
The Swine Nursery Manager position is with Great Plains Management, a division of Hueber Feed. This is a part time (2x/day) position that will include the following duties:
-General care of baby pigs at a 4000 head nursery including, but not limited to:
-Daily feeding and room checks (2x/day)
-Power washing rooms between groups
-Administering vaccines (both water and injectable)
-Monitoring health concerns
-Loading out groups of feeder pigs (Approximately weighing 50lbs)
-Unloading, penning, and counting in baby pigs upon arrival (Approximately weighing 11-14lbs)
-Filling out necessary paperwork required by owner
-Ordering feed and recording necessary data
-Minor maintenance issues (Major issues are the owner’s responsibility)
-Must be able to follow all biosecurity protocols including showering in and out of facility
-Must have NO other contact with swine!
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Applicant with prior swine care/livestock experience is desired, however, applicants with strong desire to care for livestock and willingness to learn will be considered.
-Applicant must be a self-starter, highly responsible, a good communicator, and able to show up at the barn to do chores once in the morning, and once in the evening.
-Must be able to lift at least 50-60lbs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $26,000.00 - $27,000.00 per year
