The Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments is seeking a part-time TANF Housing Coordinator to provide rental assistance for families with dependents under the age of 18 living in the home. The TANF Family Housing Coordinator will report to the TANF Family Housing Program Manager. The ideal candidate must be able to travel to partnering organizations within Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan Counties to engage and promote the program.


Preference will be given to applicants residing in Grand and San Juan Counties.


This is a part time, non-benefitted position. Up to 24 hours per week at $20/hour.


Responsibilities

  • SPDAT Assessments with potential TANF clients to determine and prioritize eligibility
  • Complete assessment with potential TANF clients for employment and housing history
  • Enter client and all family members information into HMIS within 4 days of client receiving assistance
  • Enter client and all family members information into TEVS within four days of client receiving assistance
  • Track outcomes and enter data into CAP60
  • Ensure confidentiality in all communications – both written and oral- are maintained
  • Email client signed form 115 to DWS TANF Employment Specialist same day as client receives assistance. Include in email client’s contact number, and MyCase number if available.
  • Follow up bi-weekly with DWS TANF Employment Specialist to ensure TANF Family Housing client is in compliance
  • Provide case management, and referrals to TANF FH clients to help with self-sufficiency.
  • Monthly call with DWS TANF Employment Specialist to discuss TANF client case, progress, and continued eligibility
  • Keeps a detailed spreadsheet of client assistance including back rent payments, rental deposits, and utility assistance.
  • Landlord negotiation
  • Follow up bi-weekly with TANF clients to assist on path to self-sufficiency, documenting case notes to client file
  • Complete and submit TANF Quarterly reports (document yearly in google calendar dates this report is due) to TANF Program Specialist
  • Complete and submit TANF Yearly reports to TANF Program Specialist
  • Follow up with all TANF clients six months after exiting TANF Family Housing program
  • Attend ICC/MAS monthly meetings in Carbon and Emery County
  • Attend Carbon/Emery LHC committee meetings monthly
  • Attend Homeless Summit training yearly in Salt Lake
  • Attend all TANF webinars and trainings
  • Ensure travel to Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan County

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Requires High School Diploma, computer proficiency, knowledge with Microsoft applications, Internet navigation, email proficiency (attaching documents in GMAIL), oral and written communication skills, customer service and math skills
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be dependable, regular attendance is critical
  • Must engage the community in a positive and proactive process
  • Applicant must be willing to engage with other employees in a professional manner
  • Must follow State and Agency policy and procedures
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test
  • Valid Utah Driver's License is required
  • Access to reliable transportation
