Teacher Early Learning Center Job at Mount Saint Vincent

Mount Saint Vincent Denver, CO 80211

You.

You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as an Early Learning Center Teacher.

You know when to move quickly. When to sit quietly. When to laugh loudly.

You’re equally comfortable with planning developmentally-appropriate activities, assisting children with daily hygiene needs, and teaching in a classroom setting.

You’re great at what you do, but you want to be part of something even greater. Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team is invincible.

Us.

Mount Saint Vincent is the Rocky Mountain region’s premier provider of mental health treatment, foster care services, K-8 education, and trauma-informed training — all focused on children and their families. We also operate a community early learning center that consistently earns a Colorado Shines four-star rating. Our innovative programs help children reach their full potential within their homes, schools and communities.

Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we’ve launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation, classes, counseling and paid time off. We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning.

We.

Together we’ll align mission and careers, values and workplace. We’ll encourage joy and take pride in our integrity.

We’ll laugh at each other’s jokes (even the bad ones). We’ll hello and high five. We’ll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.

We’re proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.

Your day.

As an Early Learning Center Teacher you need to know how to:

  • Supervise and assist children in daily hygiene routines, meals, toileting, etc.
  • Plan developmentally appropriate activities and facilitate play throughout the day.
  • Know curriculum content, plan and instruct children in all areas of the educational program—cognitive, communication, fine and gross motor skills, affective, and behavioral.
  • Support and integrate arts and physical education objectives into the classroom.
  • Assist with orientation of new staff, new children, and volunteers.
  • Transport children as needed or requested.
  • Promote the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT).

Your experience.

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Family and Child Development or Child Psychology, preferred
  • If degree is not in a related field, completed or working towards completing at least two (2) three-semester hour Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses with one being ECE 101: Introduction to ECE, required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children, required
  • Current Driver’s License and must obtain Colorado Driver's License within 30 days of moving to Colorado, required
  • Motor vehicle record and proof of automobile insurance coverage to be updated annually, required

Your next move.

Now that you know more about being an Early Learning Center Teacher on our team we hope you’ll join us. At SCL Health you’ll reaffirm every day how much you love this work, and why you were called to it in the first place.
