Job Description:

The Team Leader is an operator, welder, set-up, or bender technician whose role is to protect the GAP from variation. The Team Leader knows the workstations well, contributes his/her experience to the group, and steers the GAP towards its objectives. The Team Leader’s work focuses on production, safety, quality, training, and performance.

Responsibilities:

· Manage the 7 decoupled benders, be responsible for bender TPM's, will manage a break schedule so all benders run through breaks, assist with quality checks,and help manage change over schedule

· Prepare/assist/perform line changeovers

· Check Standardized Work in detail and audit work daily

· Use Standardized Work to coach and improve operator performance

· Train operators who are newly assigned to workstations, helping them attain quality and productivity standards using the polyvalence standard

· Assist operators with daily production duties

· Ensure proper application of the 7 Quality Basics

· Analyze and reworkproduct defects

· Coach operators to improve GAP’s performance

· Obtain data and lead GAP’s problem-solving activities

· Lead daily TOP 5 meetings and end-of-shift debriefings

· Update indicators and GAP Board daily

· Perform daily and weekly PM’s

· Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required

· Demonstrate strong leadership skills

· Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and co-workers

· High level of accuracy and precision to ensure high quality output

· Strong ability to organize while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability

· Able to act in solving problems with a realistic understanding of issues

· Ability to enter data accurately and solid math skills.

Physical Requirements:

· Job involves lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, exerts 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

· Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, gripping and bending

· High mental and visual effort required

· Works in, around and beneath equipment

· Work involves considerable bending and twisting.
