Barista & Shift Leader main responsibilities include preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee, tea, smoothies, & energy drinks as well as cleaning and sanitising the store & equipment. The Shift Leader manages the line and is in charge of operations when on shift. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and basic knowledge of how to keep a space clean and looking sharp. You should be able to work various shifts. Note: this position’s compensation includes salary and tips.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter
• Answer customers questions regarding drink menus and ingredients
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
• Prepare beverages following recipes
• Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the bar area clean
• Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Drink/Food service industry (Preferred)
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Basic math skills
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills
• High school diploma; relevant training is a plus
• Must be able to perform basic restaurant cleaning including wash dishes, mop floors, vacuum, wipe down tables/equipment, etc...

Requirements: Must be able to complete our New Barista Training Program.

Job Types: Part-time and Full-time up to 40 hours/week
Pay: $12.00 to 13.00 per hour for Baristas; $14 to 16.50 per hour for Shift Leaders
Schedule: Flexible between 6AM and 9PM each day
