Technical Manager (Softlines)

Intertek is actively seeking an Account Manager with Technical Knowledge to join our Softline team, based in the Portland, OR area. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, goal oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will work onsite with clients to provide support and communication between Intertek and the client representatives while ensuring that Intertek sites are supporting all testing, inspection, and auditing needs as required. In addition, they will be responsible for providing technical support to clients.

How you’ll make an impact at Intertek:

  • Provide Onsite Support at Client's place in Portland, OR Area – this will be for part of the week.
  • Responsible for effective communication and follow through between Client and Intertek.
  • Monitor and work with Intertek offices worldwide to ensure that all client testing, inspection and auditing needs and procedures are met.
  • Ensure laboratories are performing testing in accordance with client's specified test methods and test protocols, including turn time requirements and reporting procedures.
  • Provide technical support to clients, global operations and technical team.
  • Develop training materials to support internal and external clients
  • Participate in standards development process and keep global operations apprised of developments.
  • Write technical bulletins and disseminate public seminars

What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • Degree in Textile/Apparels required
  • Experience and knowledge of working with any third-party labs or retail/fashion brands in USA
  • Knowledge on US/Canada Regulatory Requirements for Softlines (especially Apparel)
