Technical Support Specialist - Berrien Springs (Full-Time)

SUMMARY:
  • Responsible for team member support on company supported computer applications and platforms.
  • Troubleshoots problems and advise on the appropriate action.
  • Repairing, maintaining, upgrading and installing computers and related peripheral equipment.
  • Provides first level triage for incoming requests.
  • Performs diagnostic testing to determine source of problems and take necessary steps to resolve or escalate the issue.
  • Ensures preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Efficiently handles installation of new systems and equipment.
  • Keeps detailed and accurate records of all work performed to help strengthen the Technical Support Teams knowledge base.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School diploma or equivalent. Computer repair training and certification preferred; or relevant work experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of troubleshooting techniques, tools and processes. Thorough knowledge of computer parts, applications and telecommunications systems. Thorough knowledge of electronic principles and practices. Knowledge of appropriate testing and repair equipment. Knowledge of company policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One to three years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to keep finances in order.
  • Good interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate necessary testing and repair equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer/technical issues.

  • Good communication skills.
