Temporary to Permanent Housekeeper Job at Valley Village Retirement Community
Valley Village Retirement Community is now hiring for a Housekeeper to work Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 2:30 pm on a temporary basis with the potential to lead to a permanent position. The housekeeping personnel is responsible for regularly scheduled weekly apartment cleaning for the residents with a housekeeping contract. This position is a temporary position for an unknown amount of time.
Valley Village Retirement Community (55+), provides housing for over 300 Residents.
A successful candidate must emphasize customer service; demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and integrity; exercise confidentiality in all areas of performance; understand, apply, and comply with all State and Federal Fair Housing laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
The specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
1. Weekly cleaning of units, including vacuuming; dusting of unobstructed surfaces; cleaning of the bathroom sink, countertop, toilet, tub, mirror, and bathroom vent; emptying wastebaskets; stripping and making beds; replacing used linens, and mopping bathroom floors.
2. Cleaning storage rooms; vacuuming hallways and lounge areas on each floor.
3. Restocking linen carts at end of the workday.
4. Cleaning elevators.
5. Cleaning laundry room in Building 1.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
1. Ability to speak and understand English.
2. Ability to work well with senior citizens, supervisors, and co-workers.
3. Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb five (5) flights of stairs, and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
4. Must have 20/20 vision (corrective lenses or contacts permitted) and be able to distinguish colors.
5. Must have normal hearing (hearing devices permitted) and speech.
6. Documented experience as a housekeeper desired but not required.
