Brief Summary of Job Duties

As a member of the Office of Undergraduate Education (UGED), the Testing Center Coordinator schedules tests through the Testing Center as well as the General Assignment Inventory. Oversees the daily operations of the Testing Center.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines and competing priorities in a demand driven, student focused, complex environment.
  • General knowledge of disability accommodation issues.
  • Must be able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and respond to internal and external requests in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years prior scheduling experience.
  • 1-3 years experience working in higher education.
  • 1-3 years experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in higher education.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • This is a limited appointment - not to exceed 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
  • Satisfactory conviction history background check.
  • Periodically may be required to work Saturdays during quarterly finals.

Job Functions/Percentage of Time/Duties

  • 90% Scheduling - The Testing Center Coordinator is responsible for scheduling the use of rooms within the Testing Center as well as from the General Assignment Inventory and other departmental reserved spaces for all proctoring accommodations between academic quarters and the summer. Responds to all scheduling requests to confirm, defer, or deny each request. Resolves minor scheduling conflicts and refers major conflicts to the supervisor for resolution. Independently manages the use of Testing Center rooms for academic room use: maintains direct communication with academic staff to determine departmental room use needs; conducts searches for available rooms across campus and facilities and updates Testing Centers electronic databases. Coordinates and requests academic one-time room reservations with the Office of the Registrar using Ad Astra Schedule System.
  • 10% Administration - Responsible for day-to-day shared oversight (along with DSP) of student staff who provide proctoring and test-taking accommodations. Works with DSP to coordinate Testing Center operating hours for DSP students and proctors. Submits Building Access Request for operating hours during Finals Week. Orders office supplies through Gateway Module.
