The Textile Worker will collect, sort, and wash all soiled bed and bath linens, housekeeping mops, and rags. Sort and fold clean bed and bath linens after laundry operations.

• Provide clean and folded linens to residents.
• Collect soiled linen and deliver to the laundry.
• Sort items into bins for washing. Reject items not suitable for washing. Report foreign articles to supervisor.
• Load washer with weighed load.
• Measure washing supplies.
• Set machine for required cycle.
• Remove clean wash.
• Load dryers and set for required cycle.
• Remove clean, dry linen (approximate weight is 60 pounds) from laundry area.
• Fold dry linens and sort by type by hand or use of folding machine.
• Label residents clothing upon request.
• Load linen carts with clean linen.
• Deliver clean laundry to floors.
• Report unclean, untidy, unsanitary conditions, broken or damaged equipment; including presence of insects to supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment for residents, employees and visitors.
• Make suggestions to improve safety conditions.
• Knowledgeable regarding responsibility during fire drills and other emergencies.
• Assist with general laundry tasks before and after seasonal or special events conducted by the Home.
• Perform other related laundry tasks as assigned.
• Reject and relocating all linens showing excessive wear, use, or discoloration.
• Perform other related laundry tasks, as assigned.

  Must be able to speak, read, comprehend and write legibly in English.
• Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
• Must be able to verbally communicate information to customers and other employees.
• Previous housekeeping experience, preferred.
• Work schedule may include working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• The employee is subject to walking and standing for prolong periods of time; and frequently stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls, pushes, pulls, grasps and feels.
• The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when handling cleaning equipment.
• The employee is subject to lifting and/or moves up to 25 pounds on a reoccurring basis.
• The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
• Occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, or other potentially infectious substances may be reasonably anticipated from the performance of duties (Category III).
• Frequent exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants.
