The USET Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting United South and Eastern Tribes, Inc. (USET), Tribal Health Program Support (THPS) personnel and USET member Tribes in developing and managing public health programs and projects. The Public Health Program Coordinator must ensure that all timelines and budgets are being adhered to as they develop and implement public health projects geared towards improving the overall general health of Tribal populations.

Reporting Relationship:

The USET Program Coordinator is supervised by the Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Create ways to sustain current Tribal Nation programs and program funding.

2. Promote collaboration and work in a team-based setting to meet program goals.

3. Establish sustainable harm reduction program.

4. Procure new revenue streams to support and expand Tribal Nation activities.

5. Work In conjunction with other USET team members to provide all Technical Assistance needed at USET Tribal Nations.

6. Work in conjunction with the Project Administrator, Medical Epidemiologist, and Administrative Assistant to collaborate with USET Tribal Nations to sustain and expand current programs and initiatives and integrate new program activities.

7. Participate in committee and departmental staff meetings in relation to appropriate program as needed.

8. Must participate in grant writing.

9. Other duties as assigned by appropriate Program Manager.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health is required. Along with the bachelor’s degree, the ideal incumbent will have at least 3 years of proven experience in sustaining and growing a public health or in project management.

2. The incumbent will have excellent listening, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

3. Outstanding attention to detail and analytical skills

4. Must have the ability to meet or exceed deadlines.

5. Effective time management skills.

6. Ability to thrive in a diverse environment.

7. CHES certification preferred.

8. Strong computer literacy and proficiency (including Microsoft Suite and Office 365).

9. Must be able to work in a team-based setting.

10. Cultural sensitivity/ability to work within the customs and traditions of various Tribal Nations; specifically, those within the USET Region.

11. Ability to show initiative, be conscientious and relate effectively with co-workers and the public.

12. Ability to travel and work irregular hours, on an as needed basis.
