PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: To participate in poverty initiatives in Tioga County, coordinate emergency assistance and ensure that food pantry is clean, secured and stocked.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Find, train and supervise volunteers to help with the clothing closet, food pantry, mobile food pantry, etc. Supervisor NOEP.

2. Participate on the Hunger Coalition, Tioga County Networking, DSS Advocacy and Partners meetings.

3. Collaborate with the partners on emergency assistant cases.

4. Help assist individuals with Emergency Crisis

5. Managing the food pantry with oversight, ordering of foods as needed, tracking and invoicing food orders and submitting reports to the food bank of the Southern Tier and to TOI.

6. Ensure the food pantry is clean, safe and presentable.

7. Organize and run the mobile food pantry.

8. Help cover pantry when needed

9. Write and submit reports for grants related to emergency assistance and food pantry.

10. Have individuals fill out intake form if new to CCTT or keep track of individuals who received services and provide to Administrative Assistant

11. Participate in grant writing for emergency assistance and food pantry

12. Organizing specials events such as Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas toys

13. Do the PAM surveys and Navigations

14. Get mail on a daily base

15. Do cash deposits/petty cash

16. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree with at least a year experience working on poverty initiatives or high school degree with 3 years’ experience working in a non for-profit field.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate ethical business practices, in conformance with all state and federal laws and regulations. • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties. • Willingness to foster agency, department and program wide cooperation and team work through use of positive/constructive communication techniques. • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in regards to all records reviewed including consumer records, employee records and billing records. • Proficiency and experience with PC’s and Microsoft applications. • Ability to analyze and interpret data and to handle problem resolution. • Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier. • Continuous use of a reliable, registered and insured vehicle. • Demonstrate commitment to Agency Mission Statement. Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation: • Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment, including motor vehicle; • Stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach; • Climb up or down stairs; • Able to reach above or below shoulders; • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 20 lbs; • Sitting at a desk or in a vehicle for long periods of time to perform certain job functions; • Be able to read write and interpret written documents;
