Michigan Wire Die, a division of MNP Corporation that manufactures tooling used in the cold heading fastener process, is seeking a Cold Heading Tooling Finisher to join its team in Warren, Michigan. The ideal candidate works well in a team environment and is quality-minded – pays attention to the details and delivers a quality product. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to work without constant supervision. Job responsibilities/Essential Duties:

Analyze blueprints and apply surface finish requirements to tooling

Polish ID and OD areas of dies to meet requirements identified in blueprints such as sizes, angles, and surface finishes

Employ hand laps or various die-polishing machines, tools, and diamond-cutting compounds and polishing pastes to achieve desired results

Prepare die surfaces to specified dimensions in lapping machine or on bench lathe

Inspect and verify the dimensions and smoothness of each piece for conformance to specifications using standard measuring equipment

Qualifications/Experience/Skill & Abilities:

Previous experience in tool and die finishing

Well-skilled in the use of hand-polishing techniques and

Experience with precision polishing lathes

Experience with lapping machines and bench lathes

Ability to work as a team and to work independently; does not require constant supervision

Ability to take direction and provide input and expertise

Must be detail-oriented and quality-minded

Must be dependable and responsible

Pay dependent on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
