The Stanfield, NC plant of Stanley Black and Decker is looking for a Tool Technician to join the team for an opportunity on 3rd shift. Under general supervision, provides and repairs heading tools, thread roll tools and final assembly tools for manufacturing operators. Ensures that manufacturing operators have sufficient tools to meet production requirements. Must be able to fabricate machine parts for production, engineering, and maintenance.

Essential Job Functions

• Repairs or makes necessary tools or dies, such as header, thread roll and final assembly tools
• Fits, assembles, and issues heading tool kits
• Maintains tool usage data and supply by using the inventory control program
• Assists engineers in the implementation of tool designs to meet product specifications
• Able to work with minimum or no supervision

Essential Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• 2‐3 years of experience in die making and carbide cutting
• Experience in milling, lathe and surface grinding
• O.D. and I.D. grinding
• Computer skills
• Blueprint reading, inspection, welding skills, inventory control, heat treating skills
• Working knowledge of grinding, mill work and lathe
• Able to use various types of precision measuring instruments
• Math skills

Schedule

• This position is for 3rd shift
• Training would likely be on 1st or 2nd shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.05 - $29.11 per hour
