Tow Boat Captain
We currently have an opening for a part time or full time captain out of Tarpon Springs or possibly Hudson. The captain would be expected to have knowledge of Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando County waters. Must be able to work weekends and cover some nights. Must be dedicated to the job and servicing our members. This position primarily provides on water assistance to Sea Tow members and customers doing towing, fuel delivery, jump starts, ungrounding as well as salvage services.

Intrepid Marine Towing & Salvage, Inc. d/b/a Sea Tow Clearwater/Port Richey is seeking a licensed captain to provide marine assistance to boaters . The candidate must possess superior boat handling skills, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn the policies and operational procedures required of all Sea Tow employees.

The following are mandatory requirements that each candidate must possess in order to be considered for the position. Your failure to provide proof or submit to one or more of the following will disqualify you from a position with Sea Tow Clearwater Port Richey.

• Each candidate must possess a minimum of a United States Coast Guard OUPV Near Coastal license in good standing. The license must also include a valid Assistance Towing Endorsement.
• Each candidate must submit to a pre-employment drug test as required by the United States Coast Guard. Upon hiring, the candidate must submit to random drug testing as a condition of his or her employment with Sea Tow Clearwater/Pot Richey.
• Each candidate must submit to a pre-employment background check.
• Each candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle for use by the candidate.
• Each candidate must submit be a strong swimmer and capable in the water.
• Each candidate must reside in Pinellas or Pasco County, Florida

As part of your employment as a captain, you will be responsible for a number of duties, including, but not limited to the following:

• The safe operation of a towing vessel for the purposes of providing marine assistance to boaters in Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando County in Florida.
• Assist boaters on the water by providing towing services, jump starts, fuel drops, ungroundings, and salvage services to vessels in need of emergency assistance.
• Communicate clearly and calmly with boaters and other dispatch personnel over telephone and VHF radio.
• Perform daily routine maintenance on the towing vessels, including, but not limited to equipment checks and basic maintenance and upkeep.
• SCUBA Certified a Plus
• Experience performing salvage and using air bags is a plus. If you believe you have what it takes to join the Sea Tow Clearwater/Port Richey team, we welcome your application.
