Job Description:
  • Provides polite, friendly, and accurate customer service.
  • Performs proper maintenance techniques to ensure a safe playable surface including maintaining infield skin, infield lips, baselines, warning tracks, pitching mounds, and home plate areas. Includes regular dragging, screen dragging, watering, mowing, edging, and trimming.
  • Paint and mark fields, set bases, and pitching mounds under applicable rules and specified dimensions. Provides set-up and cleanup of facilities for practices, games, tournaments, and events. Performs general ground maintenance, repair, and janitorial duties of fields, fencing, common areas, amenities, parking lots, and other areas.
  • Conducts parks patrols and general inspections of athletic facilities to ensure the safety of the public. Reports potential safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor for follow-up as necessary.
  • Contributes to the decision-making process on the feasibility of playing on the field depending upon weather and field conditions.
  • Exercises a high degree of initiative and decision-making to ensure customer satisfaction.

Work Hours: 40 Hours Per Week - 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or its equivalent and one year of experience as a semi-skilled laborer in the care and maintenance of parks, landscapes, athletic fields, or other similar grounds.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of the maintenance of sports fields; understanding of how turfgrass cultural practices affect turf performance. Experience in maintaining higher-level sports field playing surfaces.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
