Description:Hammond Lumber Company, voted 2022's Best Places to Work in Maine, is seeking a Full-Time Trainer for our Belgrade, Maine location.
The successful applicant will provide software and procedural training, evaluation, feedback and coaching to new and experienced employees on the company Point of Sale (BisTrack) system and other software applications This person will also provide mentoring and coaching to new and existing employees in Belgrade and at the branch locations.
Essential Functions

  • Deliver, evaluate and provide feedback to new administrative, sales, yard and other employees in BisTrack and related policy/procedure training.
  • Communicate training plan and progress to HR and department managers.
  • Monitor new hire performance; identify skills gaps; and develop plan to provide follow up on-the-job training and coaching for new administrative and sales employees.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and assistance to employees experiencing process, operational or system issues.
  • Collaborate in the development, design, delivery, evaluation and measurement of company eLearning programs.
  • Assist in the development, delivery and administration of the Learning Management System.
  • Write and update training materials.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for efficiency gains and process improvements. Test BisTrack system upgrades, fixes and enhancements.
  • Assist administrative/sales in Belgrade and provide coverage as needed and available.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Training, evaluation, coaching, feedback and facilitation experience.
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and best practices.
  • Customer service and team oriented focus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, well-developed critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Retail sales and customer service experience.
  • Ability to travel to branch locations.
