We have an opportunity for you to join the team as a Training and Safety Coordinator! The Training and Safety Coordinator works with the Human Resources Department and Management to identify training requirements and institutes plans for training new and existing employees. The Training and Safety Coordinator will develop and maintain all necessary education tools to keep Gillette Pepsi Transportation staff educated and current on all DOT, OSHA, EPA, and Homeland Security rules and regulations. The Training and Safety Coordinator will promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies and procedures. The Training and Safety Coordinator works Monday – Friday and may travel occasionally to the other Gillette Pepsi location (Decorah, IA, Mankato, MN and Rochester, MN).

“A day in the life of a Training and Safety Coordinator look like:”

  • Oversee and conduct employee training programs.
  • Plan and coordinate monthly safety committee meetings and annual safety meetings.
  • Seek and gather information from management and employees to identify training needs and improve training courses as needed.
  • Assist accident and incident investigations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Prepare and maintain all required safety risk management plans including spill prevention & storm water plans, emergency evacuation and business interruption plans, and hazard assessment plans.
  • Providing instruction and coaching to support the team and ensure all employees are working safely, efficiently and to company standards.

What does it take to be a Training and Safety Coordinator?

  • 3+ years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
  • Prior experience working with DOT
  • Valid driver’s license
