Job Summary

The Training and Development Specialist will work with the Dot’s leadership team to develop and implement safety, quality, compliance, and operational training to enhance organizational capabilities. The successful candidate will create visual aids and process standards, helping to ensure new employees learn standards quickly. The candidate will also work with current employees, continuously improving the level of capability and competency of the operators and production labor team in all facilities.


Job Duties Include

  • Conduct training needs analysis to identify and address technical competency gaps.
  • Develop unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Design and develop classroom training including workshop activities, presentation slides, and participant guides.
  • Identify need for cross-functional involvement with functions such as Quality Assurance, Safety, and Maintenance involving them in development or review of training materials.
  • Prepare and complete on-the-floor training with operators, connecting classroom training with hands-on the equipment.
  • Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Follow up training with implementation of visual aids and standard work.
  • Assist with new hire safety training.
  • Create content to be utilized on the online training platform.
  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement Team and assist in the training in the use of basic root cause analysis tools, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, SMED.
  • Lead and/or participating on cross-functional teams to resolution of assigned work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Training and Development or other related fields.
  • 2-3 Years of Training experience in an Industrial or Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to various facilities in the US.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand on feet for long periods of time.
  • Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
