Activities

  • Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. Work independently and collaboratively to provide support to OEHRM Leadership and staff in the day-to-day travel operations and events management of a program office. Coordinate closely with clients to capture complex travel requirements for both individual and group trips across the country. Assist with disseminating new procedures and policies throughout the program office and engaging with process stakeholders to support requisite change management activities. Perform a full range of administrative services associated with the travel and events process. Maintain responsibility for scheduling internal and external agency meetings, arranging meeting logistics and invitations, and organizing and maintaining filing systems. Provide travel administration support using analytical and innovative thinking which may include the following: assisting customers with submitting travel packages in SharePoint Office 365, providing basic troubleshooting assistance to the customer, and providing innovation suggestions to the OEHRM Travel Lead on ways the travel program can improve. Develop and maintain process metrics to support OEHRM leadership decision making regarding program travel. Work collaboratively across the program to support the development of forecasting tools to promote strategic planning and streamlined operations. Provide guidance regarding business rules, VA Polices and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) compliance issues, management and knowledge management best practices. Support development and coordination with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) at the project, OEHRM and OIT program integration levels.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional work experience
  • Strong leadership, written/oral communications, analysis, data gathering and organization skills
  • Experience managing Information Technology related projects
  • Well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Experience in tracking costs, schedule and performance progress
  • Able to identify and mitigate risks
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline or an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with federal clients, including operations, business process reengineering, or large-scale project management.
  • Ability to provide a customer service-orientation to satisfy client requirements
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel. PowerPoint and Visio
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, multi-task, manage time effectively, and demonstrate flexibility in responding to conflicting deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members and work independently without guidance
  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $77.00 per hour
