Tribal Support Navigator

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is an integrated behavioral healthcare agency offering a variety of different programs throughout Arizona. CBI provides residential, outpatient, inpatient, patient-centered medical homes, medication-assisted treatment, and crisis services to individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness.

Job Summary

The Tribal Support Navigator is responsible for answering calls from Navajo Nation members who need assistance in managing post-disaster assistance including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tribal Support Navigator will provide individual peer counseling, group counseling, psychoeducation, and coordinate outreach services for tribal members of the Navajo Nation. The position requires the ability to listen effectively, document all interactions, utilize de-escalation techniques, and provide supportive assistance to callers. The positions require an understanding of the Navajo Nation, tribal resources, and the ability to interface and communicate with all Navajo Nation members.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Highschool diploma or GED is required. Associates Degree (or higher) in a field related to Behavioral Health is preferred but not required of this position.
  • Minimum of 2-years of full-time Health Care related work experience where his or her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral and medical crisis situations is preferred but not required.
  • Must have lived experience in recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders, homelessness, family members and veterans.
  • Preferred experience in working with Navajo Nation Tribal members.
  • Knowledge or navigating resources for Navajo members preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of Navajo language is preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, Registrations:

  • Current Driver’s License (valid and in good standing)
  • Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record
  • C-PRSS Certification
