Job Purpose


Tufting Department Trainer coordinates alongside Human Resources’ Plant Trainer the Training Program in Tufting and Knitting departments. Ensure and improving the performance of productivity and efficiency of all new employees. Supports the Tufting/Knitting Supervisors and Manager in providing reports that tracks performance, quality and safety metrics.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Evaluates progress of each Associate during the training period and upon the completion of the training.
    • Provides feedback to the associate on their progress
  • Assists in developing all aspects of the Training Program:
    • New effective production techniques
    • Training on the new techniques
    • Implementation in production
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Interfaces with Leadership, Supervisor and/or Leads, and HR Safety
  • Trains Associates on a variety of manufacturing processes at designated department and in the classroom, including, but not limited to documentation handling
    • SOP’s and Job Descriptions
    • JARS
    • WTER
  • Assist in the development and standardization of training methodology and procedures
  • Develop and promote positive working relationships with new hires, peers, leaders and clients
  • Work with Leadership, Plant Trainer and HR to help track compliance and results of training
  • Assist HR team with yearly training of all employees
  • Administer, track. and evaluate all New Hire Orientation and Onboarding training in accordance and compliance with Synthetic Turf Resources
  • Organize and maintain training venues, logistics, and equipment
  • Meet with Leadership, Supervisors and/or Leads, Plant Trainer and Human Resources to review training materials and processes
  • Assist in the development of documentation for each process and work area in a given manufacturing department
  • Facilitate feedback of WTER assessment to associate and management
  • Participate in Continuous and Process Improvement
  • Provide ongoing feedback to both associates and Supervisors/Leads regarding all aspects of training
  • Maintain training and validation records in all processes ensuring a flexible workforce
  • Ability to multitask as it will be required to work with several associates at different stages of their training at a time.

  • Education: HS diploma/GED required
  • Highly detailed and organized
  • Preferred the candidate demonstrates advanced proficiency and knowledge of current Microsoft Office software including:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint
    • Outlook (if needed)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and mentor others
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within both internal and external organizations
  • Excellent bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
    • Both oral and written
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to actively participate in all safety team events
