Teacher/Tutor/Teacher Assistant

up to 10-25 hours a week; 2:30- 4:30, 3 - 6, 5-7, OR 2:00 - 7pm pm Monday – Friday ( WE OFFER FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES!!)

Homework Club is an after-school program serving students in elementary and middle schools, ages 5-17. Homework Club provides a quiet, structured, and safe environment for students to complete their daily homework assignments with the help of highly qualified instructors and mentors. Homework Club staff provides help and support in all school subjects. We strive to instill good work habits, organizational skills, time management abilities, and a sense of accomplishment in every student. Homework Club's mission is to create and support lifetime learners with a strong foundation in their core school subjects.

Job Description

The Tutor/ teacher assistant will facilitate and guide a group of 3-5 students with the daily homework assignment in every school subject (Math, English, Social Studies, Science, etc.). The tutor /teacher assistant will perform guided enrichment activities with students to accomplish utmost success.

Duties

  • Help and facilitate students with daily homework assignments.
  • Be able to manage a group of students
  • Ensure an equal amount of help and attention is given to every student in the assigned group and ensure that all homework is complete and correct before the session ends.
  • All student work must be checked for efficiency and signed acknowledging approval.
  • Be able to follow guidelines set by the program.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Professional Qualifications

  • Desire to work with children. Creativity is a must.
  • Be able to join forces with the Homework Club and the associated schools.
  • Ability to work well with students, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Ability to communicate well and show sensitivity to students and parents.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Coursework toward a Bachelor's/AA degree in education, recreation, or related fields... H.S. diploma is a must.
  • Coursework towards Credentialing is desirable.

Job Requirements

  • Must agree to special requirements such as obtaining fingerprinting, background check, TB clearance, and vaccination against COVID-19.
  • Have a high school diploma/GED equivalent; GPA of 3.0 and above
  • Enrolled in college,or coursework toward education or related subjects

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
