BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY

Support and facilitate all aspects of the system credentials verification process for optometric staff and other health professional appointments and re-appointments. Maintaining HIPAA compliance with medical record release and reports. Facilitate and communicate with community service constituents through the Mobile Eye Van and other community outreach.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

  • Assist in the credentialing process and re-credentialing process for optometric staff and others as appropriate.
  • Ensure ongoing state licensure.
  • Assemble, prepare and verify credentialing information.
  • Identify questionable or highly sensitive information.
  • Assure accuracy of records and maintains a state of readiness for review/audit by delegated entities, licensing and accrediting agencies.
  • Enter credentialing data into systems and maintain/update databases as needed. Follow-up on data inconsistencies.
  • Utilize database to produce reports, lists and rosters.
  • Maintain and monitor all privilege lists as needed, including Compulink.
  • Maintain the permanent credentials files on all applicable faculty.
  • Assure the confidentiality and integrity of all aspects of the credentialing verification program and process.
  • Maintain documentation of malpractice insurance for faculty.
  • Maintain patient record release requests, communication and patient referral records.
  • Maintain reports to parents and school districts regarding the Pupil Project.
  • Communicate with community service constituents, largely through the school districts via facilitating Mobile Eye Van examinations and school screenings.
  • Assemble, prepare and maintain insurance agreements.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Monday – Friday, 7AM – 3:30PM

Salary


Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $15.75 - $18.90 hourly
Grade: GGS-007
University Title: Senior Office Support Assistant


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and at least three years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired are necessary
  • One-year experience with credentialing is highly recommended.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy preferred.
  • Superior organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and produces results.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of highly confidential information regarding sensitive personal/professional information.
