POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time position responsible for the operational set-up and tear down of events and general
maintenance of the facility. This position will supervise a part time staff of up to 20 utility members on event
changeovers. The role is a union position and is subject to probationary period. Pay rate is $27.60/hour.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must have attention to detail, ability to work independently with little supervision
Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment including managing competing
demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
General care of basketball court and floors
Operation, maintenance and removal of seating
Installation, removal and upkeep of standard basketball game set
Prepares facility for all events and shows including setting stages, flooring, tables, chairs, drapes
and other equipment as assigned
Snow removal and sidewalk maintenance
Uses equipment as required upon completion of training in safe manner and as directed by
operational standards i.e., forklifts, trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, etc.
All other duties/responsibilities as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job responsibilities occur both inside and outside. Some responsibilities occur in temperatures below 32
for more than one-hour periods.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
High school diploma/GED preferred.
Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as
needed and dictated by events.
Overall understanding and experience in facility management or event industry preferred
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs overhead, and push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
Involves prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting
Must be able to work from scaffolding, catwalks, lifts, etc. and at heights greater than 50 feet
Ability to use common hand tools appropriate to the task at hand
Forklift experience a plus
