The mission of the Vacuum Applications Engineer is to be the industrail vacuum expert for Quincy Compressor. This role is the main expert for Quincy customers and provides support to the organization when it comes to product knowledge, development, applications and training. The Vacuum Applications Engineer is the liaison between our customers, distributors, field sales engineers and factory personnel.

Essential Duties:

• Become an industrial vacuum expert
• Develop understanding of competitive landscape in vacuum market
• Guide collateral information to supplement selling activity
• Develop and present technical training presentations in cooperation with the vacuum BLM
• Provide technical information as needed. Recommend equipment based on customer’s needs and provide available information concerning options required or requested.
• Promptly handles customer inquiries of all types. Answers routine product questions.
• Responsible for competitive price quoting based on standard gross profit margins, discounting guidelines and competitive pressures on specific jobs.
• Assist field sales in the preparation of product quotations and technical data as required by Virtual Engineer, in cooperation with vacuum BLM.
• Produce special reports and analysis as requested.
• Evaluate potential complimentary products and accessory items for inclusion in total product offering.
• Make recommendations for pricing changes on vacuum equipment to stay in line with market
• Coordinate with other departments to better assist the customer
• Maintain a positive attitude when dealing with customer, distributors and other employees.
• Accepts and completes any special projects and assignments that are not principal duties of this position but are in line with the goals and objectives of this department and division.
• This position will be remote and the ideal can be located anywhere within the continental United States.

Experience & Education:

• An academic background in Engineering and/or Marketing or equivalent work experience
• Must have a high technical aptitude
• Ability to travel up to 40%

Skills & Competencies Desired

• Knowledge of industrial vacuum and vacuum applications preferred, including competitive offerings and field applications.
• Must have experience with bid specifications and preparing competitive price quotes.
• Must have experience with customer service functions.
• Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), excellent computer skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must have an excellent phone demeanor
