The Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center is seeking a veterinarian for a large primate program. The appointee will become an Instructor level faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics, Harvard Medical School, and join a superb faculty with strengths in all aspects of pediatric stem cell transplantation.

Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, day-to-day non-surgical and surgical veterinary care for all experimental animals, chief surgeon for non-human primates, performing 1-4 procedures per week, supervising veterinarian for all non-human primate necropsies, supervision of staff, on-call 24/7/365 for all animal health emergencies, purchase of all drugs for primate work under DEA license.

Candidates must have Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and residency experience. The applicant will be expected to meet the annual teaching requirements by training medical students, residents, or fellows. Women and members of under-represented minorities are encouraged to apply. The Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center has a faculty numbering more than 120, with exceptional research and clinical programs in non-malignant hematology, hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, experimental therapeutics, gene therapy, vascular anomalies and neuro-oncology.
