Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
  • Serves on the Executive Leadership Team.


  • Participates in strategic planning and provides leadership for academic goals and objectives; analyzes operations to evaluate performance and determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement or policy change; establishes operational policies and procedures and makes necessary modifications based on analysis of operations, demographics, and other research information; participates in student recruitment, selection, and admission functions as needed.
  • Confers with college leadership to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems; directs plans or implements policies, objectives or activities to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, or to increase productivity.
  • Plans, administers and controls budgets, program fees and programmatic equipment purchases; maintains financial records and produces financial reports; prepares budgets for approval.

  • Recruits, hires, trains and terminates personnel; appoints deans and assigns or delegates responsibilities; coordinates academic performance management.

  • Works collaboratively to advance college’s student success agenda and improve performance outcomes.

  • Participates in faculty and college committee activities.

  • Represents the college at community and campus events, in meetings, and during the accreditation process.

  • Promotes the college by participating in community, state and national events or meetings and by developing partnerships with industry and secondary education institutions.

  • Consults with government regulatory and licensing agencies to ensure the institution’s conformance with applicable standards.

  • Develops and approves memoranda of understanding or agreements with local, federal, or state educational agencies.

  • Reviews reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or suggest changes.

  • Devotes a majority of work time to supervisory duties.

  • Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more other employees.

  • Conducts annual performance reviews of all direct reports.

  • Performs related duties.

  • Participation in grant writing and reporting and monitoring.

  • Responsible for academic staff and faculty performance assessment and review performance management.


Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a doctoral degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.


  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.
