CatFace is a YouTube entertainment company, home to a family of channels with 15 million subscribers and an average of 450 million views per month. Our goal is to entertain our audience with fun, light-hearted narratives and entertaining content for both children and young adults. A vital component of our business is creating multiple unique stories every week in order to keep our audience engaged.

CatFace is looking for a skilled writer who is interested in contributing to the creation of Minecraft videos that will reach millions of viewers every day. Candidates must be motivated to work effectively in a fast-paced YouTube environment and willing to make changes and rewrites based on the overall creative direction of a given project. Our ideal candidate will possess the drive and energy to assist workflow in any way possible including learning specific game mechanics, tools, and brand guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting research before and during the writing process, using analytics to contribute towards an engaged audience and increasing subscriptions
• Preparing material for scripts, including: notes, outline, and synopsis
• Collaboration with greater writing team and upper management; also production and art for creation of Minecraft assets and video thumbnails
• Writing 7 to 8 scripts a week with an eye towards visual storytelling working to meet deadlines
• Assisting in generating ideas for videos based on current and upcoming trends, finding themes that will catch our audiences attention
• Ensuring the logical flow and consistent tone of all writing produced by the writing team
• Attending feedback sessions and making revisions suggested by management on a consistent basis
• Be comfortable using AI for concept reference to create original concepts, outlines, and scripts

Requirements:

• Knowledge of the Minecraft platform, its lore, and mechanics or the ability to learn
• Passion for YouTube Content, desire to understand how it works, and the ability to adapt to frequent changes on the platform
• Understanding of YouTube gaming content; if you are passionate about gaming content it's a plus!
• Understanding of content for children and young adults
• Ability to analyze video metrics to increase reach and audience engagement
• Ability to work in a fast-paced entertainment environment
• Ability to work as on scripts both individually and as part of a team
• Efficient and timely communication skills
