What you’ll Do:
- Lead our team from a “job shop” facility into a combination of job shop, assembly and discrete manufacturing. Be a part of making the “when” and “how” decisions.
- Develop a Roadmap of growth and capability for the various production facilities
- Space, Tooling, Workforce, Systems, Leadership and Supervision
- Advise on Systems and Processes needed to achieve the roadmap objectives
- Set and implement manufacturing philosophies to the shop floor. (Ex: Lean, Built-in Quality, Innovation, CI, Variable Workforce, Automation, etc.)
- Collaborate with other Interstates’ Offers and services to serve our clients with our manufacturing capabilities.
- Set, measure and advance goals of the organization for manufacturing (Certainty, Production, Hours saved onsite, competitive pricing)
- Manage products and where they can be leveraged.
- Create additional Offers in the Manufactured Area to meet the emerging marketplace demands and trends for Offsite Construction
Qualifications:
Your Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ experience required, and at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated working experience in discrete manufacturing models.
- Experience with multi-location shops (standards across locations, philosophy about facilities specialized or duplicated)
- Experience within companies that used discrete manufacturing and job shop manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 6 sigma and 5S.
- Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work across multiple teams and departments.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to travel to other manufacturing facilities in the Midwest. 25-30% travel anticipated.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Adjust well to rapid change and can lead through major changes.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to learn quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and need for continuous improvement.
- Any experience in: New Plant Commissioning, Modular or Skid Manufacturing, 3D Modeling
- Proven success in attracting, selecting, and retaining employees, capable of managing in a dynamic, rapidly scaling work environment and an ability to maintain effective working relationships.
