Our core competencies are in eCommerce and brand development of specialty products for both natural and man-made waterbodies. We serve customers in all of North America and several overseas markets, selling in both B2B and B2C.

Job Description
Our VP of Technology is a critical contributor to our entire company and customer experience. This position requires exceptional ability to assess needs, define requirements, manage tasks and prioritize work. The most important quality is an enthusiastic ownership of your successes. Here are some examples of the actual work your day would include.

  • Responsible for the strategic design, development and implementation of organizational information systems, software applications and IT support/infrastructure systems
  • Identifies emerging information technologies such as IoT to be analyzed, assimilated and integrated within the organization
  • Work cross-departmentally with marketing and R&D team to design IoT concepts for new and existing products
  • Oversee the development of mission-critical applications and technology to support long-term goals and provide direction to development teams
  • Oversees disaster recovery plan updates, event planning and execution
  • Oversees improvements to hardware, system, application performance and stability
  • Conducts regular audits for risk management and resource allocation on network and data security
  • Oversees and determines timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, enhancements, implementations, migrations and outages
  • Manages and reports on allocation of IT budget
  • Reviews and approves proposed solutions to interdepartmental hardware and software challenges
  • Develops and shares regular operation system reports with senior staff
  • Develops, coaches, reviews and supports team in creating training and career development plans and ensures assignments with increasing levels of responsibility are given to staff
  • Functions as a key project decision maker
  • Acts as a central communication point for all activities underway with the TPG IT team; coordinates projects with team/vendors and works with business partners to prioritize enhancements and communicate issue resolution
  • Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for team
  • Evaluate/manage IT partners and third-party vendors
  • Foster a culture of delivering high levels of customer experience within The Pond Guy organization

Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge and skills:

  • 4 + years of experience as VP Information Technology, CIO or similar role
  • Outstanding knowledge of modern tech stack of cloud/SaaS applications
  • Extensive hands-on experience with design, development and implementation of IT systems
  • Solid understanding of data analysis and data engineering in a hyper growth company
  • Solid understanding of Telematics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, financial planning and business operations
  • Analytical mind and great problem-solving skills
  • Extensive experience with IT helpdesk function including hardware deployment and system access
  • Outstanding communication with a variety of different audiences and strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrated strong ability to match technical solutions with customer business requirements

This position requires manual dexterity for typing, sitting at a desk and looking at a computer screen for typing for long periods of time. In addition, portions of the position require the VP of Technology to shadow other departments that may require physical activity including lifting 25-35 pounds and standing for long periods of time.

We need an VP of Technology that has a positive attitude and the words "can't" and "impossible" are not a part of your vocabulary. This person should continually add value to the organization beyond their day-to-day tasks.

Availability
You must be available to work between the hours of 7am and 6pm Monday – Friday with the occasional evening or Saturday for projects that must be done outside of normal business hours.
