ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a full-time non-exempt level position. You will be required to be on-site at the Milpitas warehouse 5 days a week, Monday-Friday from 9am-5:30pm. Also, we do require proof of vaccination for our interview process. We are looking for a hard-working self-starter who is okay with lifting boxes of books of various sizes and weights.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is essential in helping the organization achieve its mission of helping more children read and succeed. This role is responsible for ensuring RAR’s award-winning books and materials are received, packaged, and shipped to affiliate partners across the United States while providing excellent customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for ensuring timely fulfillment of all sales and grant orders to meet organization’s sales goals and funder/affiliate expectations.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Receive inventory from multiple vendors and put away on appropriate shelves.
  • Shipping materials via UPS and freight.
  • Assist in efforts to prioritize work orders and follow the weekly shipment plan.
  • Actively monitor and organize inventory; assist in annual inventory count for audit purposes.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of successful work experience in a warehouse operations role.
  • Proven ability to organize tasks and workflow, use good judgment, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse people in multicultural environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Salesforce, accounting, and inventory management systems (Intacct or Q-Stock, Core commerce) preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to adapt to new and changing circumstances within the work environment and to approach situations and challenges with an open mind.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
