JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, this position handles all warehouse duties including shipping and receiving, cylinder handling, and stocking of hard goods in the warehouse, loading/unloading trucks and may occasionally work in the showroom assisting customers with sales at the counter.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Stocking, storing, labeling, picking, packing and distribution of all materials and supplies.
  • Physical receipt, checking and storage of delivered materials into the warehouse; performs inventory of warehouse materials.
  • Enforces policies for proper receipt, storage and distribution of materials; reviews invoices.
  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ensures all safety rules are strictly observed.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to organize and control inventoried items.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Are you a MATCH?
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations and maintenance of warehouse equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the industrial gas business and welding products is highly desirable.
  • Forklift certified.
  • SAP knowledge and experience a plus.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in the use of the company’s computer operating system (SAP).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of inventory control methods and procedures, and the ability to apply such knowledge to practical situations.
  • Knowledge of general policies and procedures, including safety and security measures, and the ability to practically apply such knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the stock and inventories generally warehoused.
  • Ability to organize and control inventoried items.
  • Must be able to work overtime, when necessary.
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 - 50 lbs, and occasionally lift 51 - 80 lbs.
  • Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required.
  • Ability to perform functions during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
