POSITION SUMMARY

To perform this job successfully, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for planning the day-to-day warehouse activities to ensure the quality and on-time delivery of customer orders, inventory control, and execution of warehouse system initiatives. He/she needs to delegate work to subordinates directly or indirectly and communicate regularly with other functions and team members to insure good teamwork and execution in the Warehouse.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and manage warehouse operations and be present and visible in all 3 shifts in all warehouses/sites to effectively lead and inspire the whole team to meet business objectives.
  • Leadership presence and visibility is required across all sites and shifts to effectively lead and inspire the whole team to meet business objectives.
  • Allocate and schedule warehouse shifts as needed.
  • Communicate and work closely with logistics function to ensure orders are ready by scheduled pickup time.
  • Coordinate with function heads on warehouse operations and activities to ensure proper compliance and handling.
  • Responsible for establishing operational procedures for warehouse such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, keeping warehouse inventory accurate, insuring warehouse is clean and orderly.
  • Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment to ensure compliance of industry safety standards and food grade standards.
  • Provide and implement proper safety and GMP trainings to warehouse staff.
  • Schedule and follow up preventive maintenance of warehouse equipment, forklifts, trucks, batteries, loading docks, rolling doors, ventilation fans, racking system, negative air pressure air filters, etc.
  • Prepare work orders and requisitions for repairs and equipment replacements.
  • Direct and dispose of salvage and expired or damaged materials.
  • Maintain a smooth operation of SAP, WM System and update material master data systems.
  • Conduct timely annual performance reviews (PMDP) with all subordinates.
  • Work with Director, Warehouse & Logistics in preparing annual warehouse budget and periodic monitoring.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position manages all employees of the Warehouse and must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
  • Must have 7+ years of hands-on, solid warehouse management experience including 3+ years in a managerial role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing/CPIM/Six-Sigma Certification is preferred.
  • In-depth, direct experience with the implementation and use of commercially available ERP systems is required.
  • Experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing/operational excellence is highly preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP or any ERP systems.
  • Ability to develop, coach and guide a team in the execution, development of strategies leading to the achievement of company Key Performance Indicators is required.
  • Proven experience in developing and nurturing relationships with critical partners is required.
  • Leadership presence and visibility is required across all sites and shifts to effectively lead and inspire the whole team to meet business objectives. This is a leadership role covering multiple sites 24x7 is required.
  • Must be approachable and on the floor frequently.
  • Must have good analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet all deadlines; follow through and handle multiple tasks/projects.
  • Ability to develop, coach, counsel, and manage subordinators and build effective teams to support the function objectives.
  • Must be able to work independently in cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
  • A thorough understanding of diverse work ethics and cultures in international business environments is essential.
  • Direct knowledge of import/export regulation as pertained to FDA-regulated products is highly preferred.
  • Ability to define problems through data gathering and analysis, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet business demands.


B. LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentational skills in English; and proven ability to work independently in cross-functional teams to achieve established goals.
  • Conduct presentations in large and small group settings.
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese-Cantonese, or English and Spanish is a plus.


C. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • This position requires basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ideal candidate must be able to interpret a variety of warehouse instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


D. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
