OVERVIEW:
The Warehouse Manager will provide leadership and direction in a high volume outbound, environment, supervise and coordinate activities of team members concerned with picking, packing, shipping, receiving and fulfillment as it relates to preparing it for shipping both nationally and internationally, maintaining a safe, effective and orderly work environment, scheduling, continuous process improvement and maintaining positive vendor relationships.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manages inventory integrity to optimize inventory control SOP’s.
  • Plans and implements initiatives to improve department efficiencies with an emphasis on continuous improvement in the movement and flow of raw materials.
  • Plans and implements initiatives to manage and improve the movement and flow of finished goods from assembly to outbound load building.
  • Ensures that standard operating procedures are developed, executed and updated for inbound and outbound flows.
  • Develops load building standards, in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Manages outbound load building process.
  • Manages space layout and utilization of inbound and outbound areas.
  • Ensures that standard operating procedures are developed, executed and updated in accordance to guidelines in the areas assigned.
  • Manages the efficiency and on-time performance of the shipping floor operations.
  • Manages the sourcing, procurement, and use of outbound packing materials, capital equipment used in receiving, outbound.
  • Develops, monitors, and implements processes required to effectively manage inbound receiving, put-away, and outbound shipping.
  • Implements and maintains business process reengineering activities that impact inbound and outbound areas.
  • Monitors and reports cost, velocity metrics related to shipping floor operations.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations in the areas of receiving, put-away and outbound.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in logistics operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years in supply chain performance management and/or warehousing, 3PL (managing relationships).
  • Advanced experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Must be fluent in Spanish
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project and/or other appropriate software.
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills.
  • People and leadership skills with track record of achieving positive business result.
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing and logistics principles.

  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensures that staff is contributing at maximum potential through rigorous hiring practices and an emphasis on training and development initiatives, including coaching and counseling direct reports in their performance and professional development, for approving the proposal of pay increases, hiring decisions and disciplinary actions.
  • Emphasizes ethical leadership and decision-making to protect Pelican’s brand and reputation.
  • Establishes challenging, productive and achievable goals for direct reports; measure results by establishing checkpoints to track progress.
