(PLC) is a Black-led organization, providing culturally-sensitivity human services to children, youth and families in the District of Columbia and surrounding Maryland, throughout Greater Philadelphia, and in most of Delaware. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Washington DC Regional Director will oversee all aspects of programming and operations within the DC region. This position is responsible for the management of program staff, relationship building with stakeholders and financial oversight for the region.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executive direction for overall all current and future DC based programs.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and coaching to program staff.
  • Attend and participate in council hearings for DC Based programs.
  • Plan, along with other PLC personnel, for the development of regional programmatic, fiscal and facility needs.
  • Communicate, interpret and ensure staff compliance with PLC philosophy, policy and procedures.
  • Facilitate communication of changes, procedures, processes, and systems within the organization to program staff.
  • Assure adherence to program budgets and contract requirements.
  • Assure achievement of program goals and objectives.
  • Supervise and evaluate program staff.
  • Plan and conduct regular program staff meetings in partnership with program director(s)
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with key stakeholders as well as PLC team members.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and trainings within PLC and scheduled by funders.
  • Work with human resources to hire & terminate all personnel within the region.
  • Assist Senior Philanthropy Manager on business development opportunities (e.g., research and lead proposal development process in response to government/foundation request for proposals).
  • Conduct audits on the information entered into the PLC database system.
  • Enter data into the PLC database system when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of master’s degree in social services, business administration or nonprofit administration.
  • Professional experience in management in local or federal government, business, nonprofit, or social services
  • Advanced skills in contracts development, negotiations, fiscal budgeting & management
  • Experience with government and foundations grants
  • Experience with developing and managing grants processes
  • Experience with the development of program budgets
  • Experience successfully interacting with diverse staff
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Computer literate with understanding and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certification in NTU Service Delivery Model within one (1) year of hire

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must have the ability to travel among PLC offices in the Northeast corridor.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer); Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard.
  • Must be able to position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must have ability to navigate stairwells.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees/customers/clients; and must be able to exchange accurate information by perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral and written information.
  • Must be able to detect funnel clouds from long distances.
  • Ability to move files weighing up to 20 pounds throughout the office space.
  • Must be able to participate in fire drills or other drills during an emergency situation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Normal office environment indoors. PLC requires all staff to be present, in the office, a minimum of two days per week and as needed for in-person meetings.
