UTZ Quality Foods is seeking a Workers' Compensation Manager to join our team in Hanover, PA. This position will administer the corporation's Workers' Compensation Program, including the processing and reviewing of claims, participation with settlement negotiations, management of individual claims, and the coordination and collection of statistical information that can be used to set loss prevention strategies and improvement activities. The WC Manager will take a leading role in managing the relationship with our TPA to ensure that both agency compliance obligations are met, and proactive tools are utilized to curtail costs. With collaboration from the Safety Office, strategies will be provided to the leadership team that can be used to prevent injuries and minimize losses.

This position will form key relationships that will include Plant Managers, as well as key stake holders regarding the day-to-day administration of light duty work assignments, return to work policies, and providing statistical information relevant to preventing injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit individual claims to the designated TPA and coordinate initial care using preferred providers, within state specific regulations, to ensure appropriate care is provided to associates.
• Supervise the management of WC claims; coordinated return to work and/or light duty assignments with local management teams.
• Interface with physicians, WC nurses, attorneys, and management staff as required to manage individual cases.
• Oversee and ensure the efficient maintenance of records regarding workers' compensation claims and related information, data and activities.
• Develop, recommend, and implement workers' compensation policies and procedures; recommend and implement goals and objectives.
• Participate in budget preparations and monitor expenditures; assist in determining the extent of liability; recommend and negotiate claim settlements.
• Attend workers' compensation hearings; manage third-party subrogation cases to seek possible reimbursement.
• Stay abreast of trends and innovations in the field of workers' compensation administration and keep current on legislative and regulatory issues at the State and Federal levels.
• Identify, evaluate and assess probability and severity of losses; develop, implement, and monitor cost containment strategies to prevent and minimize losses.
• Provide assistance with preparation of summary reports and other correspondence as appropriate.

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Five to ten years of experience in workers' compensation and/or risk management.
• Knowledge of claims handling.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
