Position: Workforce Development Program Coordinator
Status: Part-Time Non-Exempt
Time Frame: Open Until Filled
Reports to: NoCo HBA Executive Officer
Compensation: Up to $25,000/year, $24.00/hr @ 20 hrs/week
Location: 1907 Boise Ave., Unit 1; Loveland CO 80538

The Careers in Construction Colorado (CICC) in Northern Colorado leads a Skilled
Trade Workforce Development Program partnering with school districts, industry professionals, and other trade associations to produce career pathways connecting students to opportunities in the construction industry.

One of the challenges for the construction industry is the lack of a trained and adequate workforce. The Northern Colorado Home Builders Association (NOCO
HBA) began working with the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs and (CICC) in 2021 after realizing that traditional “shop” classes were non-existent in our public-school system, stripping students of the opportunity to learn about careers and continuing education in construction fields.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to make a difference in the lives of students by helping to prepare them for valuable careers in the construction industry. The Workforce Development Program Coordinator will work with school staff, volunteer school liaisons, the NoCo HBA Executive Officer, and NoCo HBA
Members to promote the program, recruit students and additional schools to join the program, and to organize engagement and learning opportunities between students and HBA Members.

Essential Job Functions

Scheduling with school calendars for:
● Guest speakers/Demonstrations
● Work Based Learning opportunities
● Soft Skills training and liaisons

● Goals and Outcomes meetings with accountability follow up
● Problem Resolution meetings
● New school opportunity identification
● Focus on growth/new school additions

Member Outreach/Marketing:

● Organize one on one meetings with Members
● Utilize phone, email and newsletters in outreach and updates
● Collect and organize data for member engagement categories (i.e. donations, time, materials, etc.)
● Organize collected data
● Attend monthly Council/Committee meetings
● Participate in membership engagement and marketing
● Utilize Job Board on MemberZone and/or Xello platforms to connect students to opportunities

Careers In Construction Colorado (CICC):
● Data collection/reporting to satisfy required information
● Identify and apply for local and state grants with CICC
● Accounting/Invoicing of reimbursements and other monies from and to CICC
● Collaborate with CICC for new policies, procedures, best practices, etc.
● Integrate marketing with NoCo HBA and CICC
● Attend Quarterly CICC Meetings

School/Student/Parent Marketing:

● Work with schools for initial introductions and overview
● Organize data collection/recording/reporting for CICC and Grants
● Organize liaisons, volunteers, job fairs, Xello, Job Board, etc.
● Collaborate with the Larimer County WIG team for marketing/social media/campaigns .

● Able to achieve objectives in cooperation with other staff, committees, and members.
● Knowledge of Association structure and governance preferred.
● Understand current issues and market conditions of the industry.
● Proven ability to develop and implement strategies
● Use creative problem solving to address complex issues.
● Able to work effectively with member volunteers and staff.
● Strong written and oral communication skills – grammatical and proofreading proficiency.
● Highly organized, intuitive, accurate and detail oriented.
● Professional appearance, attitude, interpersonal relations.
● Proficient in social networking sites, blogs, and website management.
● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, and Outlook.
● Evening and weekend work will be required on occasion.

Experience / Education

● High school diploma required; college course work or degree preferred
● Equivalent job experience will be considered

Physical Demands
The physical demands listed should be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

● Must regularly lift and /or move up to 15 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

● Specific vision abilities required, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

● Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment
Flexible work schedule required. Typical office environment for daily operations.

Careers in Construction Colorado Mission: Through partnerships with educational entities and other organizations, establish and maintain vocational education courses and programs focused on skills training for the various trades within the construction industry, to promote the benefits of career opportunities in the construction industry to students, parents, influencers, and educators, and develop effective job placement platforms to connect students to industry.
