Youth Educational Assistant Job at Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth
Job Responsibilities
- Helps create a welcoming, safe, and supportive facility environment.
- Determines whether the youth has any special needs regarding educational requirements, communicates those needs to the treatment team and assists the youth in fulfilling those needs.
- Contributes to the well-being of all youth by serving as a positive role model, demonstrating professional and caring manner toward co-workers, youth, and guests.
- Works with staff to assist youth with attendance, academics, and behavior.
- Develops educational opportunities when youth are not in classes
- Assists with educational programs and testing as needed.
- May assist in supporting and engaging youth in therapeutic groups such as coping skills, psycho education, Life Skills, etc. for the expected length of time
- Attends meetings and takes minutes as required
- Assists with educational programs and testing.
- Prepares documentation and logs for fulfilling program requirements.
- Organizes and maintains office records and files, compiles information, completes a variety of reports, and utilizes the computer for word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
- Organizes materials and resources.
- Participates in staff meetings/professional development.
- Maintains confidentiality of information for the purpose of meeting privacy requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prefer Bachelors Degree, required Associates Degree,
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with youth.
- Must have a current, valid driver’s license per Agency guidelines. Travel required.
- Incumbents must clear the New York State Child Abuse Registry and pass physical exam.
- Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
$44,500 – 46,500 Yearly Salary
