Job Description

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest as a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, where you will lead and oversee respiratory care services to ensure timely, high-quality patient treatment and compliance with healthcare standards. This role involves managing clinical operations, developing respiratory therapy programs, and fostering a collaborative environment among staff and interdisciplinary teams.

Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, you will guide the department in delivering exceptional respiratory care, including advanced airway management, pulmonary function testing, and mechanical ventilation for adult and geriatric patients. You will also be responsible for staffing, training, and maintaining equipment safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of respiratory therapy protocols and patient care standards.
  • Manage clinical operations and resources to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
  • Assess patient evaluations and collaborate with providers to implement respiratory treatment plans.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and administer various respiratory therapies.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary care conferences.
  • Maintain and inspect respiratory therapy equipment for safety and functionality.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate respiratory therapy staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Contribute to budget planning and departmental reporting.
Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years acute care respiratory experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings is advantageous.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current, unrestricted Respiratory Therapy license for Washington State.
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships with healthcare teams and patients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve problems efficiently.

Physical Requirements

Includes frequent lifting and carrying of equipment up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech within normal range with or without corrective devices.
