Accountant – Paper Transport

Join our Accounting team! We are hiring an Accountant within our accounting department at Paper Transport. This role will lead the month end process for both the trucking and logistics business.

How can you be successful in this role?

  • Prepare monthly general journal entries
  • Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Responsible for fixed asset and lease accounting
  • Assist with analyzing financial statements monthly
  • Assist in year-end audit preparation and support
  • Assist with other projects as assigned
  • Work well with both trucking and logistics accounting teams
  • Streamline and simplify current processes

What job qualifications do you need to bring?

  • Minimum 4 year Bachelor’s degree; MBA or CPA is preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month end/year end close processes
  • Strong technical background in accounting systems and MS Excel; Microsoft Great Plains experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment with attention to detail
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Exemplify great communication and organizational skills, as well as an eye toward continuously improving the way we do things.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems and the transportation environment a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
