Remote - Hybrid: 2-3 days a week in the office, depending on work requirements.

This position will be responsible for oversight of the accounting and finance functions of the RWJBH Medical Group. This role will provide administration of the accounting function, ensure strong financial controls and compliance, and support the RWJBH Medical Group in meeting its financial and strategic objectives. The individual will be responsible for maintaining financial policies and procedures pertaining to business processes or internal controls with direction provided by the Director of Accounting. This is a hands-on role that requires a professional who is comfortable operating in the day-to-day details. Experience in, and knowledge of, physician revenue and understanding of the healthcare industry is highly desirable. Our ideal candidate will possess very strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust and confidence through their interactions.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close process across the physician enterprise.
  • Preparation and review of monthly financial statements and related accounting reports for the medical group.
  • Review monthly financial reports with department leads within the physician enterprise.
  • Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Implements production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems and identifying system improvements.
  • Supervise and advise staff preparing journal entries and reconciliations for review and compliance.
  • Assist in annual budget process and supporting the regional VP s, Directors and Managers during completion of the budget.
  • Builds and supports effective relationships with internal stakeholders and organizations. Develops partnerships, coordinates activities, reviews work, and exchanges information related to financial statements.
  • Ensures proper selection and training of departmental personnel. Manages and evaluates performance of senior and staff accountants to ensure quality of service and technical expertise.
  • Participation of internal and external yearly audits.
  • Review and analyze reconciliation of GL accounts.
  • Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting/finance degree required
  • CPA certification preferred
  • 5-7 years progressive experience with supervisory experience
  • Healthcare/Physician Group experience recommended but not required
  • PeopleSoft experience a plus, also strong MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization,

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
