Position Description:
A Sacramento Payroll & Human Resources Consulting firm is seeking an enthusiastic and team oriented individual to join our Accounting Team with a focus in Tax Compliance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Directs the accounts payable and receivable functions.
Assist as part of a team and work closely with Controller.
Balance and process client NACHA files.
Oversee quarter and year end processes.
Support clients in set up of new tax accounts, including out of state accounts.
Track and resolve client tax issues.
Oversee new employee training.
Oversee task management for accounting staff.
Set up and maintain clients financial information in payroll software.
Set up client general ledger and maintain in payroll system.
Process payroll taxes with follow up.
Direct and oversee year end projects and tasks.
Oversee agency notices, client requests and new client set-up.
Necessary qualifications:
Excellent, advanced knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills;
Proficient in MS Word and Outlook;
Experience with payroll taxes (CA State and Federal; other states a plus);
Proficient with 10-Key;
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
Must be professional, flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication skills;
Customer service oriented;
Strong analytical skills;
Willing to learn new computer software and accounting tasks;
Able to work independently with minimal supervision;
Ability to follow specific directions to resolve customer issues
Regular, predictable attendance is required.
Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
Education and/or Experience:
AA degree or higher in accounting or finance
Three to five years accounting experience and/or training
Three to five years payroll tax experience and/or training
Availability:
Full time, Monday - Friday
