Job Title: Afterschool Childcare/Educator, Part-time (Houston, TX)

Job Description:
A private family seeks to hire an experienced Nanny/Educator to support two young children ages 1 and 3 years old and work alongside a team of nannies that manage all the childcare aspects. The right candidate will be able to support appropriately aged lesson planning and help children transition into preschool. Ideally, this individual will have a strong childcare background with extensive teaching experience. You must be able to create individualized curriculums valuing all dimensions of the child - intellectual, social, emotional, aesthetic, and physical.

  • Work alongside a team of nannies to provide the utmost level of care and foster a nourishing environment for both children to thrive and develop in the comfort of their home
  • Responsible for managing the children’s education and lesson plans
  • Create engaging, lesson plans that will prepare children for Pre-school
  • Promote self-confidence, independent thought, and critical thinking, while fostering social,
  • emotional and intellectual growth.
  • Track children’s progress and adjust lesson plans as needed
  • Communicate with parents to ensure they are happy with their child's progress
  • Teach all subjects such as science, math, language arts, etc.
  • Help with childcare – assist nannies as needed with the supervision of children
Schedule: Monday – Thursday 3 PM – 8 PM. Occasional Sunday support from 9 AM – 5 PM

Salary/Rate: $25 - $40 (Negotiable based on experience)

Must meet all requirements:
  • 5-10 + years of teaching experience working with children ages 1 – 5 years old
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a nanny or babysitter for a private family
  • Master of Education preferred or Bachelor’s degree with a child development focus
  • Energetic, warm, and nurturing
  • Passionate about teaching
  • Certification in CPR & First Aid
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Polished, poised, and professional
  • Intelligent with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Must have valid US work authorization
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
