Assistant Director Utilities/Wastewater Job at Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation
Under the direction of the Top Division Operations Executive, the incumbent ensures that the Mashantucket Pequot Waste Water Treatment Facility is operated within the operational requirements so that effluent discharge meets, exceeds minimum standards at all times. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. State of Connecticut Driver's License.
Must provide a yearly DMV Certified Driving History. Class III Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Connecticut DEP Laboratory Analyst of Wastewater -CT. DEP. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. This is an essential personnel position and incumbent will be on emergency call 24/7 via pager, cell, and home phone.
Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with MPTN employees at all levels, customers, suppliers, and relevant external contacts. Ability to operate under pressure and not get easily frustrated. The Chief Operator must be certified as a Class III Waste Water Operator incompliance with CGS 22a-416-1 to 10.
