We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer who will ensure the performance of assigned work complies with the requirements of the contract plans and specifications. The position will be based out of Los Angeles, CA

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the contractor complies with all contract requirements.
  • Perform or call for required tests to ensure work quality.
  • Keep complete accurate and concise records of the work and quantities.
  • Keep the resident engineer informed of work progress and problems.
  • Respond to any contractor questions about plans and specifications.
  • As a representative of Client, act professional at all times.
  • Work effectively by knowing construction methods and inspection techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering is required.
  • 5+ years of experience is required. Past experience on public and private infrastructure projects in the areas of transportation is highly desirable.
  • A professional license or credential consistent with the work (PE EIT QSD QSP or CCM) is highly desirable.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand construction schedules.
  • Possess solid negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to travel locally to multiple projects when necessary.

Salary

  • $ 115,000-150,000 Annual Salary Range
  • Pay may be more or less depending on experience, skills, education or geographical location.
