As the Associate Business Systems Consultant – Patient Services BTS, you will be part of a high performing team, with focus on building best-in-class Access & Reimbursement solutions for external and internal stakeholders. You will be part of the product development team working with Patient Services business, solution architect, agile delivery team and business relationship manager. You manage and provide expert advice on the selection, justification, implementation, and business use of information systems and solution that provide Access & Reimbursement capabilities enabling HCP and patient needs. You analyze and capture business processes, you elicit, analyze and document business requirements, you identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility, and make recommendations. You leverage existing technology to find solutions to new problems and identify needs for new technology where existing technology is lacking. You translate business requirements into functional requirements and perform data and process modeling. You manage change and user acceptance. You lead, coordinate, and perform testing, verification, and validation of requirements.


Requirements:

  • Support the Patient Access, Affordability & Reimbursement team within Patient Services. Elicits and communicates the organization’s business strategy; works directly with business unit clients to understand specific business processes and needs and opportunities for improvement; identifies IT capabilities and information required to support the business processes and collaborates in the development of appropriate information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy.
  • Identifies current and emerging Access & Reimbursement and evaluates alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices. Proactively seek out strategic business opportunities with business unit executives for the application of new or existing technology capabilities. Areas of focus will include the following Access & Reimbursement teams: Patient access (HUB Services, PA Support), Field Access Team (FAS and Complete Pro), and Patient Financial Resources (Bridge, Copay, and Other Cash/Coupon programs)
  • Develops technology strategies that meet the requirements of the business. Identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies. Ensures compliance between business strategies and technology directions. Prepares testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete.
  • Conducts training. Identify process and technology disconnects and translate them into improvement opportunities with cost savings or avoidance, productivity improvements, or revenue generating business benefits. Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other BTO's to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
  • Allies with other BTS functional areas to remain current on project status, and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps BTS managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts.
  • Identify and address key business issues relative to project execution and performance ensuring that multiple partners / stakeholder perspectives are considered; Integrate and synthesize all available information specific to the issue.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial, and quality aspects. Establishes organizational objectives and delegates assignments. Accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made. Also accountable for communicating the business need and drivers to development groups to assure the implementation phase can fulfill the business need.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.
  • Strong understanding and prior experience with the development and implementation of at least one of the following: Patient enrollment and Benefit verification, Prior authorization, Patient Assistance Foundation, Co-Pay, HUB processes, Field Access Specialists and/or specialty pharmacy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharma ecosystem and process flows like digital channels of patient enrollment, service opt-ins, preference center, co-pay eligibility, master data management etc.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with/present to (verbally and in writing) all levels of the organization, from Product Managers to Divisional Vice Presidents.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with all corporate functions and senior management.
  • Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving.
  • Prior experience working with quality systems, GXP and regulatory systems and medical regulatory approvals.
