Role and Scope of Position:
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for working closely with Labor Consultants to support Operations management. Assists and supports the implementation of Labor Relations (LR) initiatives, programs and practices that achieve Company goals, promote positive labor/management relations, and treat employees with dignity and respect.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists the LR Team in the implementation, administration and communication of labor and employee relation policies, practices, and strategies for the Company.
  • Works with the Human Resources support team and managers in the formation of proposals to be submitted during contract negotiations or for mutual gains bargaining. Assists in the development of negotiation strategies.
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals to be submitted during contract negotiations or for mutual gains bargaining.
  • Supports the Labor Relations Consultants in the grievances and claims process
  • Supports the preparation of union-management contract negotiations.
  • Supports the Labor Relations Consultants with disciplinary hearings, grievances, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Supports preparation for joint labor management committees.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with Union leadership and Eversource management.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledgeable of the National Labor Relations Act and other governmental laws and regulations affecting labor relations.
  • Knowledge of other applicable employment laws, rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of HR policies and practices related to areas such as employee relations, benefit administration, compensation, and performance management

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, related discipline or equivalent experience.

Experiences:

  • Minimum of three (3) years in Human Resources; preferably Employee and Labor Relations.
