Assistant Director of Residence Life


BARGINING UNIT:
MEA Administrator Level IV


STARTING SALARY RANGE
: $49,046.99 - $63,995.20 commensurate with the agreement between the MCCS Trustees and the MEA Administrators Unit Level IV pending classification.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Director of Residence Life (ADRL) is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the total residence life program at the Southern Maine Community College. This includes the oversite of three dormitories on two campuses as well as the occasional use of hotels as a fourth dormitory and all staff. The ADRL responsibilities include the supervising RD staff, front desk student staff and student Academic Mentors, coaching, training, student safety, and serve in the on-call rotation for after hour emergencies. As ADRL you will handle all resident hall conduct issues, to include serving as part of the conduct appeal process as well as serving in the College’s Title IX process. The ADRL oversees move-in, move-out processes; room assignments and billing changes. Lastly, the ADRL is responsible for creating a community of caring where all students feel supported and cared for.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Science/Arts/Education and Residential living experience, preferably as a Resident Director


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Science/Arts/Higher Education or Student Affairs Degree +3 years of related experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Working knowledge of student development
  • Effective programming skills (identifying needs, creating, and implementing programs)
  • Investigation skills used for conduct and Title IX role
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Supervision/mentoring/coaching skills
