Before & After Care Counselor - Valrico Lake Advantage Academy Job at Valrico Lake Advantage Academy
Essential Duties:
- Supervises and instructs assigned classes in the locations and the times designated by the Aftercare Director.
- Follows the provided schedule and curriculum program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students to which they are assigned.
- Creates an environment that is conducive to learning in a creative way and is appropriate to the maturity level of the students to which they are assigned.
- Implements activities for the classes assigned.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of Aftercare, ensuring that each student leaves with the appropriate verified adult.
- Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one to five years related experience
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Organized, energetic, innovative and professional.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Education
Required- High School or better
